Qualifications.....

Stuart Ellis qualified in 1990 from the University of Newcastle School of Dentistry with the Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree (BDS). He then went into hospital service working on dental and jaw trauma at the Ulster Hospital, Belfast and St Thomas' Hospital, London.

Stuart moved into general dental practice in 1992, and in 1996 he gained the Membership in General Dental Practice qualification (MFGDP) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

In 1996 Stuart also obtained the Diploma in Forensic Odontology (DFO)from the University of Hertfordshire. This is where Dr Ellis first started working with the legal profession.

In 2000 Dr Ellis gained the Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Surgery (DPDS) from the University of Bristol School of Dentistry. This qualifiaction took three years of study and concentrated on three specific areas of dentistry - crown & bridgework, endodontics (root canal treatment) and periodontology (gum disease).

In 2006 Stuart Ellis obtained the Master of Science degree (MSc) from The University of Bristol Faculty of Medicine.



Background

As well as his hospital and general dental practice Stuart also holds a position on the Board of Examiners at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in both the MFGDP and the MJDF qualifications. Dr Ellis has sat on the Board of Examiners since 1998. Since 2001 he has been the Chief Examiner of the written paper component of the overall MFGDP examination (the MSA component) and has sat on the examination core group since 2000.

Stuart Ellis has written numerous scientific papers, professional articles and book chapters and has lectured nationaly.
